Set up in 1907, in the wake of the “Swadeshi Movement” by the visionary business leaders, IMC has been serving trade and business community and through its membership of about 2700 members and 220 trade and industry associations.
IMC’s services during the pre-independence time saw significant contribution in support of Indian trade and the greatest recognition of yeoman services during that period was the acceptance of Honorary Membership of the Chamber by Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the only Chamber which had this honour and priviledge.
IMC is always seized of the contemporary socio economic issues and supports causes for benefit of trade and business community at large while ensuring that interest of all stake holders is uppermost in all its activities.

The Award eco-system seeks to recognize and catalyze the creation of enterprises addressing the theme of inclusive innovation.
2014 is the third cycle of the Award. The first two cycles, 2012 and 2013, evinced high level of interest and participation by inclusive innovators from across the country. Details of the Five Nominees for the two cycles of the Awards are in the brochure.
The Winner of each Cycle received the Award amount of Rs 20 Lakhs helping in taking forward their ventures .Two special Awards of Rs 1 Lakh each were presented in the 2013 Cycle. IMC Inclusive Innovation Cell provides the mentoring support to the Nominees for the Awards.
